THE LARGEST FLOWER IN THE WORLD

August 8th, 2008 by · No Comments · Uncategorized

The flower with the world’s largest bloom is the Rafflesia arnoldii. This rare flower is found in the rainforests of Indonesia. It can grow to be 3 feet across and weigh up to 15 pounds! It is a parasitic plant, with no visible leaves, roots, or stem. It attaches itself to a host plant to obtain water and nutrients. When in bloom, the Rafflesia emits a repulsive odor, similar to that of rotting meat. This odor attracts insects that pollinate the plant.

Another enormous flower found in Indonesia is the Amorphophallus titanum, or Titan arum. It is also known as the “corpse flower” for its unpleasant odor. Like the Rafflesia, the Titan emits the smell of rotting flesh to attract pollinators. Technically, the Titan arum is not a single flower. It is a cluster of many tiny flowers, called an inflorescence. The Titan arum has the largest unbranched inflorescence of all flowering plants. The plant can reach heights of 7 to 12 feet and weigh as much as 170 pounds!

DON’T cry over anyone who won’t cry over you

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــGood FRIENDS are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــYou can only go as far as you push

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــACTIONS speak louder than words

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــDON’T let the past hold you back, you’re missing the good stuff

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــLIFE’S SHORT. If you don’t look around once in a while you might miss it

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــSome people make the world SPECIAL just by being in it

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــBEST FRIENDS are the siblings

ِAllah didn’t give us

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــWhen it HURTS to look back, and you’re SCARED to look ahead, you can look beside you and your BEST FRIEND will be there

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــTRUE FRIENDSHIP “NEVER” ENDS, Friends are FOREVER

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
Good friends are like STARS You don’t always see them, but you know they are ALWAYS THERE

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ?What do you do when the only person who can make you stop crying is the person who made you cry

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــEverything is okay in the end. If it’s not okay, then it’s not the end

ــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــ
Most people walk in and out of your life, but only FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart

plastic surgery

July 31st, 2008 by · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

In the last term,Dr.dalal ask us to write an argumentative essay about any topic.I chose plastic surgery because it is everywhere. So, I hope that you tell me your opinions .Are you against or for plastic surgery??

(Beauty lies on the eye of beholder). That means what is beautiful to you is not necessarly be beautiful to him or her. So,beauty is something can not be measured. However,in todays society, beauty in women has one meaning .It appears to be measured by the size of her waist, the straightness of her nose and the thickness of her lips. Therefore, many women are driven by media to do plastic surgery because they want to achieve this level of perfection regardless the bad effects of plastic surgery on their bodies. plastic surgery should be restricted.

supporters of plastic surgery argue that surgery is a form of art that can reshape the body of anyone. It creats an image that makes the patient feel more confident with their appearance. However,we can not ignore the fact that plastic surgery has alot of risks. It is often performed in private hospitals which are not well prepared.private hospitals usually do not have the instruments that are needed in ergent cases.

Another argument for plastic surgery is that women are attracted by movies stars. They want to be looklike the actresses. They feel if they have an attractive look as the stars, they will be more respected by the people around them. However, this argument can not be accepted.women who want to be looklike the stars have problem not un their looks, but in their personalities. Those women are shallow. They think that if they do plastic surgery, they will be happy like the stars. They do not understand that this happiness just appears in their faces not in their hearts.

finally.although many people today are attracted by outside beauty ,but inner beauty is more important because at the end we will all get old and wrinkly.
